general management
Managing Directors rarely have the chance to develop an in-depth understanding of all the disciplines involved in General Management. Hardly surprising, as General Management covers everything!
Arrival in management may have been accelerated by their success in a specialist field and, often, the MD has had little chance of gaining experience in many of the skills essential for really effective general management.
Critically, these gaps in knowledge and experience are common right around the Boardroom table, too.
Smart MDs are quick to acknowledge these skills gaps; they’re equally quick to acknowledge that, even if there aren’t many, they simply don’t have the time to devote to applying their knowledge and skills satisfactorily.
Ask yourself this:
- How in general would you benefit from expert support? More hours in the day, perhaps. Or help in areas where you have less experience.
- Are there specialist disciplines in which you and your Board would benefit from expert support?
We’re here to fill in those gaps, whether in generalist areas such as business planning, stakeholder relationships, mergers and acquisitions, or in specialist areas such as financial, commercial, marketing, or people management.
Can we be of service to you?
