Spurred on by the success of the 'Bangers' for Cash scheme, Mr Darling has announced a new Boilers for Cash scheme, offering a £400 incentive to replace your old boiler for a new one.
Further green measures have been introduced by incentivising (in the form of £900 tax free) early adopters of green technology, such as solar panels and wind turbines. Also for businesses, electric cars and vans are tax free for employees and attract 100% capital allowances.
Public sector workers pay capped at 1% - is it just me or does this seem really pretty harsh for the nurses and teachers? Maybe this is about Mr Darling setting an example for the private sector…
